The west side of the building housed the B. C. Taber Dry Goods Store and later operated as a department store. The east side of the building was built for the Wilkinson Jewelry Store and operated as the Ulhman Department Store. It later became the Holman Jewelry Store from 1966 to 1985, and in 1987 it was purchased by Speculative Ventures Inc., with Stan Obrenovich as president.
