East Sioux Falls no longer retains its buildings and structures above ground, but evidence of the town site still survives. In the late fall of 2009 and the spring of 2010, the Archaeology Laboratory of Augustana College investigated the site and documented its remaining features. Those identified features include quartzite house foundations, house locations, an outhouse location, a shed location, a retail store location, the East Sioux Falls Town Hall location, the general location of a railroad depot, concrete pads and wells, a trail to the schoolhouse, a stone stable foundation, a brick-lined cistern, depressions marking possible outhouses, houses, a boarding house, and other building locations, a telephone pole, a quartzite building, a well with water pump, the general location of a trolley terminus, a quartzite railroad culvert, a farmstead, a stone crusher, a possible East Sioux Falls Hotel foundation, a brick-lined wall, quartzite building foundations, and a concrete foundation for a store and beer hall.
