The Bridge Over 4th of July 1804 Creek

At the present site of Atchison, Kansas, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark stopped on July 4, 1804, and named this stream 4th of July 1804 Creek. In his logbook, William Clark wrote that because the creek had no name and the day was the Independence of the U.S., they called it 4th of July 1804 Creek.
