Model AH1-S, tail number 68-15127, was an attack aircraft that flew 3,845 hours from April 1969 to May 1984. It had an M-28 hydraulic turret minigun, 40mm grenade launcher, TOW missile launcher, pilot reflex sight, and a T53 Lycoming engine. While serving in A Battery "Dragons," 4/77 Aerial Rockets Artillery, 101st Airborne Division, during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970, it logged over 1,200 hours. It twice received in-flight damage from small arms attacks yet continued to accomplish all mission objectives. Other assignments included the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC, 6th Army at Yuma Proving Grounds, AZ, 6th Cavalry at Camp Humphreys, Korea, and 17th Cavalry Regiment at Fort Drum, NY. This aircraft has supported TRADOC since June 1984.
