Readington Township honored local service members through a World War I honor roll on grounds where fifty-seven trees were planted in 1918 for men who helped make the world safe for democracy, and it later dedicated its veterans monument to those of World War II who died and those who faced death so that mankind might live in freedom, naming the World War II veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice, including three additional names on a lower plaque, and honoring all from Hunterdon County who served in the armed forces and made the ultimate sacrifice in the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
