Wertz's Covered Bridge, also called the Red Covered Bridge, is a historic wooden Burr Truss bridge over Tulpehocken Creek in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Built in 1867, its single 204-foot span is the largest single-span covered bridge in Pennsylvania. One of only five covered bridges still standing in the county, it reflects the region's broader 19th-century bridge-building tradition. Changing transportation patterns led to its permanent closure in 1959 after rehabilitation and the opening of the Warren Street Bypass. Later preservation efforts included its 1978 listing on the National Register of Historic Places and a major restoration in 1984.
