On the campus of Coastal Alabama Community College in Thomasville, Alabama, this biographical museum preserves the work and legacy of Kathryn Tucker Windham, an Alabama author, storyteller, and journalist whose writing helped document the state’s history and folklore. Dedicated on June 1, 2003, her eighty-fifth birthday, the museum is located in the college library building and includes a sculpture of Windham by Alabama folk artist Charlie Lucas. Its purpose centers on keeping in view Windham’s lifelong work of recording Alabama stories and traditions.
