In grateful and loving memory, this monument is dedicated to Litchfield's sons and to military service personnel from the Litchfield, Illinois area who gave their lives in defense of their country and to preserve the freedom its citizens enjoy. Their memory is held in hearts and honored as beyond the power of mere words to convey, with a wish for them eternal peace. Those remembered served and died in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Desert Storm War.
