Trabuco Peak is a 4,607-foot summit in Southern California’s Santa Ana Mountains on the border of Orange and Riverside counties, roughly midway between Rancho Santa Margarita and Lake Elsinore. Within the Cleveland National Forest, it stands on the main divide between Arroyo Trabuco, or Trabuco Canyon, to the west and the Temescal Creek valley to the east. As the highest point in the Santa Anas south of Santiago Peak, it is a prominent landmark and natural overlook above two drainages. Routes from Trabuco Canyon, including the West Horsethief Trail, Holy Jim Trail, and nearby Main Divide Road, make it a well-known backcountry destination.
