Arts & Culture
In New Bremen, Ohio, the Bicycle Museum of America houses one of the world’s largest private bicycle collections in a historic three-story downtown building. Created after Jim Dicke II acquired more than 150 bicycles and memorabilia from the 1997 auction of the Schwinn Family Collection, it has grown into a broad survey of about 140 years of cycling history. Its rotating displays range from early designs and penny-farthings to military, novelty, celebrity, and film-related bicycles, along with accessories and tools. Together, the collection traces the bicycle’s evolution in transportation, design, sport, entertainment, and everyday American life.
