Dragon Swamp, also called Dragon Run, is a swamp-fed stream in eastern Virginia that extends 36.7 miles through King and Queen, Essex, Middlesex, and Gloucester counties before joining the Piankatank River as its main freshwater tributary. Fed by a wetland landscape, it takes both its name and its significance from the surrounding swamp environment. More than a single mapped landform, it belongs to the broader drainage network of the Dragon Run watershed and plays an important role within the larger Piankatank watershed.
