Van Buren State Park is a 296-acre recreation area in northwestern Ohio, south of the village of Van Buren, in a mostly agricultural part of the Interior Plains. The park originated in 1939 when Rocky Ford Creek was dammed to form Van Buren Lake for a private wildlife preserve, and the lake and preserve passed to the state in 1950 for park use. In August 2025, the dam was notched and removed to restore the creek, draining the lake. The park protects a small woodland of beech and sugar maple and supports varied wildlife while offering trails, camping, and limited bowhunting.
