Long after the Lake Shore Stone Company's quarrying operation had ceased and the company town houses had been relocated to the Village of Belgium, an industrial chimney remained on this site as the sole reminder for many years of the early 20th century business that had prospered here. The chimney once stood near this site and was leveled in the 1970s.
