The pioneer homes of the Hardin Thomas family included a one-room log cabin built about 1789 and a four-room log structure built about 1805, on which Thomas Lincoln, father of the 16th President, did the carpentry and cabinet work. For several years Thomas Lincoln was a resident of Hardin County, which then included other present-day counties.
