Ladd Glacier is an alpine glacier on Mount Hood’s north slope in Oregon, entirely within the Mount Hood Wilderness, at an average elevation of about 7,500 feet. Set amid snowfields, rock, and steep volcanic terrain, it has undergone substantial shrinkage over time. Between 1907 and 2004, the glacier lost 37 percent of its surface area, and its terminus retreated about 1,190 metres, or 3,900 feet. Its changes reflect the wider pattern of glacier retreat observed on Mount Hood and across the western United States.
