Built circa 1884 for Hayden Polk Stephens (1844-1932), an up and coming Burlington lawyer, this house is an outstanding example of a late 19th century Burlington residence. H.P. Stephens later became a judge in Kenton County, where he died in 1932. In the mid-20th century, the house served as the home and office of Burlington town physician Dr. Martin A. Yelton (1879-1964) and his wife Alice.
