In-N-Out Burger opened on October 22, 1948 at 4:15 PM in Baldwin Park, California. The store was originally at Francisquito and Garvey, where the current freeway overpass is now located, and it moved to this location in 1954. On that first day in 1948, Harry and Esther sold 57 burgers from a 10' x 10' building and welcomed customers and took orders through a two-way speaker.
