The Sonora Daily published its first issue on Oct. 10, 1938, and its last issue on June 30, 1958, before being incorporated into The Union Democrat on July 1, 1958. It was printed by mimeograph from October 1938 to December 1949, and on April 15, 1950, it became the first offset-lithographic newspaper adjudicated by the California Supreme Court. It was admitted to the California Newspaper Publishers Association in May 1958. Over its run, a total of 12,104,372 copies were produced. O.K. Peckham served as editor, publisher, and founder, and Evelyn L. Peckham was associate.
