Weather along the northern Gulf coast can change quickly: winter temperatures range from 40–70 degrees fahrenheit, with rain less common than in other seasons and snow and freezing temperatures uncommon; summer temperatures range from 70–100+ degrees fahrenheit, with frequent rain and many thunderstorms. Hurricanes affect the area during the tropical storm season between June and November, and tornadoes can occur during the spring and fall.
