Bonham State Park is a 261-acre Texas park near Bonham, opened in 1936 on land acquired by the state in 1933 from the City of Bonham. Its rolling prairie, rocky hills, woodland, and 65-acre lake were largely shaped during the Depression by Civilian Conservation Corps Company 894, which carried out erosion control, recreation improvements, and built the earthen dam. Under architects Joe C. Lair and William C. Caldwell, the CCC also created rustic limestone and cedar structures that still define the park. Part of the broader historical landscape around Bonham, it remains a well-preserved example of CCC craftsmanship and New Deal-era park design.
