St. Francois State Park is a Missouri state park about five miles north of Bonne Terre along the Big River. Covering 2,735 acres, it serves as a public recreation area centered on outdoor activities. The park includes a campground, trails for hiking and horseback riding, and fishing opportunities on the river. Within the park lies the 49-acre Coonville Creek Natural Area, which contains Coonville Creek and its narrow valley.
