The Shrine Chapel, the heart and oldest section of the Sorrowful Mother Shrine, was restored and renovated through A New Dawn. A New Beginning with generous donations. The work was offered in thanksgiving to the mother of God and dedicated to all who contributed. The Seal of the Sorrowful Mother Shrine represents the shrine's beginning, its continued growth, its founding by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, proclamation of the gospel, service to all, devotion to the sorrowful mother as the mother of God and bearer of a new dawn for humankind, and the precious and life-giving blood of Christ. Many people helped with the project, and their inscribed names were placed in a memorial book in the pilgrim center. A time capsule containing items associated with the project was buried nearby, with hope that it will be opened on the shrine's two hundredth anniversary. The words "In Mary's name, I say this to each one of you: she loves you, each and every one of you. She loves you very much. She loves you at every moment without any exceptions." appear with the reflection, "His mother treasured all these things in her heart."
