McAlpine Mountain is a summit in Henderson County in western North Carolina that rises to 2,923 feet, ranking as the 1,673rd highest summit in the state. The peak was named for Henry McAlpin, an early settler in the area. Although little else is recorded here, the mountain reflects the way many named features in the region preserve traces of early settlement history.
