Ivy Green, the family home of Captain Arthur M. and Kate Adams Keller, was built in 1820 as the second house erected in Tuscumbia. Helen Adams Keller, called America's First Lady of Courage, was born here on June 27, 1880. The property has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior.
