William Jordan constructed the Jordan Office Building as part of the rebuilding of Winton after Union troops burned the town in 1862. At the same time, the Jordan family rebuilt the old Dickerson Inn, which operated as the Jordan and Parker Hotel until it burned in 1936. The office building was originally used by the Jordan family and was later acquired by John A. Vann, who used it with his son-in-law, W.D. Boone, as a law office.
