Built by F.L. Blanc, a parson, carpenter, and lumberman, this warehouse stored apple box "shook" for drying. When box making failed to pay, he converted it into his first store, selling lumber, paint, and "a small stock of luxuries." It later served as a rental in the 1930s and was turned 90 degrees on its lot in the early 1940s. The Julian Woman's Club bought it in 1942 for $350, with Alice Blanc, Myrtle Botts, and Mildred Redding signing the loan note. After wall reinforcement was completed and the county approved its use as a clubhouse, a kitchen and additional meeting space were added.
