Gaukler Pointe, the home of Edsel and Eleanor Ford, has been designated a National Historic Landmark. Its natural prairie-style landscape is nationally significant as one of the finest examples of the mature work of landscape artist Jens Jensen, the style's foremost proponent. The country home estate represents a fruitful collaboration between Jensen, the Fords, architect Albert Kahn, and industrial designer Walter Dorwin Teague during the years 1926-1940.
