Lillinonah Trail is a 5.9-mile blue-blazed loop in Newtown, Connecticut, running through Paugussett State Forest above Pond Brook and Lake Lillinonah in the lower Housatonic River valley. Created in the early 1940s by the Connecticut Forest and Park Association, it follows ridges and water edges marked by views, a high point near 480 feet, a large oak, old stone fences, foundations, and a maple sugaring demonstration near Echo Valley Road. Part of the route is a state-designated scenic trail. Its setting preserves layered history, including Indigenous place names, the former Shepaug, Litchfield and Northern Railroad corridor, and Lake Lillinonah, a reservoir created in 1955 by Shepaug Dam.
