SS Regina is a shipwreck in the Gulf of Mexico off Bradenton Beach, Florida, where the remains of the tanker lie about seventy-five yards from shore. Built in Belfast in 1904, the ship was lost near Bradenton Beach on March 8, 1940. Over time, the wreck came to be valued not only as the site of a maritime loss but also as an important cultural resource on the seabed. That status was formally recognized in 2005, when Regina became Florida’s tenth Underwater Archaeological Preserve and was also entered on the National Register of Historic Places, securing its place in Florida’s maritime heritage.
