The 105 howitzer first entered full production in 1934 and was used to support infantry soldiers. Each artillery battery consisted of 5 guns, and each gun could fire shells a distance of 8 miles. The 105 howitzer served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam before being modified in 1985.
