Kitchell Park, a forty-acre public park in Pana, Illinois, was given to the city in 1908 by John W. Kitchell and Mary Little Kitchell and later placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. From 1885 to 1949, its grounds hosted the Tri-County Fair, and the park still preserves features tied to that era and to later civic life, including the fair’s former gate, the 1911 Chautauqua Pavilion, the 1910 concrete Schuyler Bridge, part of the original horse track, and a large auditorium built after a 1910 deluge. It remains both a historic landmark and an active public gathering place.
