Rainbow Bridge is located at the foot of Navajo Mountain on Page's eastern horizon. Although its official discovery did not occur until 1909, there is convincing evidence that prospectors stumbled upon the bridge in the late 1880s. J.W. Powell certainly did not know about it as he floated down the Colorado River in 1869. It can be reached by boat from Lake Powell or by rough roads and trails that begin on the Navajo Indian Reservation.
