Glen Canyon Dam Bridge is a steel arch bridge in northern Arizona that carries U.S. Route 89 across the Colorado River beside Glen Canyon Dam at the head of Marble Canyon near Page. Built by the United States Bureau of Reclamation to support dam construction, it allowed materials and traffic to cross the deep gorge during that project. Completed in 1959, it was then the highest arch bridge in the world. The two-lane span is 1,271 feet long, with its deck 700 feet above the river, making it one of the highest bridges in the United States and a prominent engineering landmark.
