Theodore F. King built this house about 1878. Louise King was born here in 1881 and lived in the house until her death in 1975. In 1963, she donated the land next to the King Store so the newly formed Roxbury Township Historical Society could relocate the Silas Riggs House there. Roxbury Township acquired the King property with Green Acres funding in 1984, and the King House and Store were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. Restoration of the house began in 2000 through the Roxbury Rotary Club, and the site is administered by Roxbury Historic Trust, Inc.
