Quah-Kah-Ka-Num-Ad was a Potawatomie phrase for “Woman Who Prays Always,” applied to Rose Philippine Duchesne, a nun of the Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a teaching order, who taught Indian children here in 1841 and was canonized a saint on July 3, 1988.
