At Antietam, Wilcox Soldier's Monument honors the memory of the soldiers of Madison and was presented by Vincent Meigs Wilcox of New York City, colonel of the 132d Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers, who was born in Madison on October 17, 1828. It names Madison soldiers from Fredericksburg and the years 1861—1865, including Col. Vincent M. Wilcox, Capt. Sam'l Fiske, Cha's M. Wilcox, Sam'l F. Willard, Joel B. Bishop, Cha's F. Hand, WM W. Hart, Henry C. Warner, and 158 others. It also names soldiers from Gettysburg and the years 1775—1783, including Capt. Timothy Field, Dan'l Hand, Jehiel Meigs, and 65 others, and from Chancellorsville and the years 1812—1814, including Lt. Benj. Bradley, Timothy Dudley, and 32 others.
