Roseneath Cottage, built in 1918 as the home of Col. Verne La Salle Rockwell and his wife Marcia Lawrence Rockwell, bears some features of the Arts and Crafts architectural style. The Rockwells were dedicated to preserving Smithtown's heritage, and their former home is now the center of operations for the Smithtown Historical Society.
