Industry
In Robertsdale, Pennsylvania, the Broad Top Area Coal Miners Museum preserves the history of the isolated Broad Top coalfield in south-central Pennsylvania. Its collections focus on the region’s mining communities, their work, and the transportation networks that supported them, especially the Huntingdon and Broad Top Railroad. Operated by the Broad Top Area Coal Miners Historical Society, the museum began in the former Reality Theater after the society bought the building in 1991 and opened the museum there in 1992. In 2008, it moved to a former Methodist church in Robertsdale. The museum also holds most of the H&BT archives, making it a key repository of local industrial history.
