The Auburn Automobile Company operated from 1900 to 1937. Its Art Deco style administration building was built in 1929-1930 and housed departments of the Cord Corporation, manufacturer of Auburn, Cord, and Duesenberg automobiles. In 1974 it became the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Museum, and in 1978 it was listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
