Jonathan Edwards, born at East Windsor in 1703 and died at Princeton, New Jersey, in 1758, was a pastor, theologian, tutor at Yale College, president of the College of New Jersey, and one of the leaders in the Great Awakening, the first spontaneous movement in the religious life of the American people.
