Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church began in a house behind the Corner Place in Dixie, Louisiana, where the first prayer meeting and a revival were held in late 1889 under the leadership of Rev. Eddie Moore, pastor. In 1903, the congregation moved from the Corner Place to its present site. Its first church building was a wood frame structure, later replaced by the present church building where the congregation worships. Over the years, the church held large baptismal services in Cottonwood Bayou, dinners on the grounds, and many spiritual and anointed services, and it became known for spiritual devotions, the rendering of the Old 100's gospel singing, and moving sermons.
