The Chatham Veterans Memorial honors local veterans who served in the 2nd, 8th, 9th, 10th, 29th, 41st, 42nd, 70th, 84th, 85th, 124th, 128th, and 182nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry and Cavalry regiments, as well as sharpshooters, Hundred Days Men, a nurse, and soldiers killed in World War I and World War II. It records the names of captains, lieutenants, sergeants, corporals, privates, and others from Chatham, and notes those who were killed in action, died of wounds, died of disease, or were killed by a boiler explosion between 1861 and 1945.
