Dorsey Knob is a mountain summit on the southern edge of Morgantown, West Virginia, near U.S. Route 119. It is part of a 71-acre park built around Sky Rock, the mountain’s best-known feature, which is also called Dorsey Knob. Sky Rock reaches 1,398 feet above sea level and rises nearly 600 feet above the surrounding terrain. From this high point, the site overlooks the Monongahela River and the Appalachian Mountains, making it an important scenic vantage above the city. The park also includes Dorsey’s Knob Lodge and serves today as both a natural landmark and a local recreation area.
