Kings Mountain State Park
Nature
Kings Mountain State Park occupies a broad, hilly section of South Carolina’s Piedmont near Blacksburg, with trails linking it to Kings Mountain National Military Park and Crowders Mountain State Park. Established in 1934 with 6,141 acres donated by the U.S. government and enlarged by another 744 acres in 1995, it retains extensive Civilian Conservation Corps development that remains central to its character. In 2008, its historic district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The park also features the Living History Farm, representing an early 19th-century Piedmont farm, along with Lake York and Lake Crawford, combining recreation with regional historical interpretation.
