Early pioneers of the Shenandoah Valley and their descendants mined gold and produced grain, livestock, orchards, and vineyards in these rolling hills. Nearby are the old school, used for 100 years and now a social center, and the cemetery begun circa 1852. New settlers continue the agricultural tradition.
