Purchased in 2008, Howard Marsh Metropark opened in 2018 after the largest restoration project in Metroparks Toledo history. Kayaking, birding, fishing, and hunting are among the outdoor recreation opportunities at the marsh. More than six miles of hiking trails and six miles of navigable water provide visitor experiences, along with a quarter-mile boardwalk and two observation platforms where eagles, waterfowl, shorebirds, and warblers may be seen. Turtles, frogs, and other wildlife also inhabit the wetland.
