Manufactured by Lockheed Aircraft in Marietta, Georgia, in May 1963, this C-130E was delivered to the 1608th Air Transport Wing at Charleston AFB, South Carolina, then transferred in March 1967 to the 316th Tactical Airlift Wing at Langley AFB, Virginia. During that period it deployed to RAF Mildenhall in the United Kingdom, Tachikawa AB in Japan, Nha Trang AB and Cam Ranh Bay AB in Vietnam, Rhein Main AB in Germany, and Howard AFB in Panama. In June 1972 it was transferred to the 314th Tactical Airlift Wing at Little Rock AFB, Arkansas, then in 1974 to the 165th Tactical Airlift Group in Savannah AP, Georgia, and later to the 133rd Tactical Airlift Wing in Minneapolis-Saint Paul, MAP, Minnesota. In March 2010 it was assigned to the 314th Airlift Wing at Little Rock AFB, Arkansas, as a ground trainer. It served in both operational and training roles before being placed on static display in 2012.
