Pawnee Nation code talkers of World War II included Frank Davis, Brummett Echo Hawk, Grant Cover, who was killed in action, Phillip Gover, Enoch Jim, Chauncey Matlock, Harold Morgan, Floyd Rice, Henry Stoneroad, Sr., and Collin Tsosie. American Indian and Pawnee Nation code talkers were patriots and heroes whose codes were never broken, and many carried their secrets to the grave. Code talkers representing twenty-six American Indian tribes were recognized and honored at a Congressional Gold Medal ceremony in Washington D.C. on November 20, 2013.
