Bear Mountain is a peak in the Sierra Nevada foothills near Yokuts Valley in Fresno County, California, in the lower western reaches of the range where it begins rising above the Central Valley. In the early 1900s, a fire lookout tower stood on the mountain, showing its importance as a vantage point over the surrounding foothill landscape. That function later changed, and the site is now used mainly to support communications equipment.
