Founded in 1881 by noted Baptist preacher W.M. Jordan, Dripping Springs Academy occupied a stone building that was given to the Pedernales Baptist Association in 1883 and then to the Public School District in 1889. A second floor was added in 1920. In 1952, the property became that of Rambo Lodge #426 A.F. and A.M. It was recorded as a Texas Historic Landmark in 1968.
